Well,
My first days of work have been very good.
I feel like, when the stapler doesn't work, I think like I am in the movie of Office Space and laugh.
I punch in the sales, payoll and parties on a huge computer spreadsheet. The guy who is training me is leaving his position and moving to San Francisco and has been training me these past, almost two weeks, on. He is really fast with the computer and I was told by my big boss, Lester (who hired me on the day I responded to an ad on Craislist...more about him later.!)that I should only watch him during the first week and take NO NOTES@! I just about followed his advice, except that I have taken pages and pages of notes.
Work and the spreadsheet, I love it.
Right now it is confusing at times but I get it. SOmetimes I can't find the spreadsheet(sheesh, i need to come up with an abreviation for spreadsheet)on the computer cause we use lotus and excel. and even though they do the same kinds of things, well my job uses both. I want to color coat the pages, cause I do the books for two resturants. A restaurant and hotel in Grenwich, Connecticut ( Isn't that where I was sleeping in the car on our culinary road trip?) calles L'scale, and a big city resturant here in Chicago called Japonais. They are opening up one in NYC this spring, but I don't know if I will be doing the books for this place too. I guess it depends if I handle the two places I got!

So that on the day I met Lester, I responded to an email that wa posted on Craigslist and forgot to attach my resume.
He responded to my cover letter in a funny way, and for the rest of the afternoon we emailed back and forth about what we were looking for. He has a sense of humor. I went for an interview that night, after work, and he showed me the office space, and said "You could work here, or here, or even here..., you could work here"
Then he gave me a tour of Japonais, which is on the ground floor of the office building where I work, now.
The restuarnt has a Red room and a Green Room, a lounge and a riverwalk, plus a cafe. It was a great first impression and he gave me the idea that I would be leavin Coobah and coming to work for himat Midwest Restaurant Control. Not that he said it that way, but pretty much, I felt like he liked me and wanted me to leave my current job with two weeks notice.
So now, after next friday, i WILL be officially in charge of doin the books for a big time restuarnt in chicago plus a high end restaurnat in Grenwich. I think I can pull some discounts, but maybe not yet, but, in the future, I plan to go and reap the benefits of doing my job and taking you all out to Japonais one time you are in Chicago.
SO i gotta sleep now, and hope that you can ask me more about the bland bookkeepin jon I have. cuz I got great stories about the people I work with. hahaha.

nah
I found other things to do in life besides work.
