Love buckeyes these day. i don't eat em much, but love em! To do --
**mix!**:
Peanut butter
with
a buncha vegan confectioner's sugar (can be made with sugar blended with arrowroot or cornstarch) or maple syrup
and a coupla T of melted margarine,
and maybe some oats.
**moll!**:
Alla it into serving-size balls. The size is up to you!
**put!**:
On wax paper-ed pan, and stick in icebox.
**Take!**:
Outta da chilla and eat when you wanna with red wine -- the buckeyes stuck with toothpicks and partly dipped in melted chololate and refrozen for 10 min or so to make the "eye", or not!
Yum!
augh! it's thanksgiving, and no recipes posted! arrgh!
Aaaaaarrrrrrghhhhhh!!
I think this was a nice idea with the recipes and all, but maybe we should wait for R for Recipe to post these things. Especially since thanksgiving is passed now.
Instead, we can talk about our favorite baked goods, and our favorite baker, magoo!
In time.
What I baked for Thanksgiving:
**Vichyssoise, warmed
**Homemade stuffing with portabellas and leeks and sourdough french bread and stuff
**Pumpkin pie with gingersnap cookie crust. Made the crust, but the pie was from the can. Not too bad, but keep getting these stringy egg pieces in the pie part. Ew.
**Pulled roasted lemon chicken off the bone for Jesse. It was a surprise meal, so I had to do it fast. Got the wishbone in there by accident. Almost choked my darlin.
**And my favorite whole cranberry sauce from the can. Ocean Spray or something.
**Chivas Ale. Got me some kind of hung over. But other things contributed to that as well, if I'm being honest here.
A very low-key Thanksgiving. On the road, you know. It's no fun cooking unless there are people who will also get enthusiastic about it all. The prep and the eating. And I know no better food enthusiasts than my family here. Which is why I verymuch look forward to our fabulous holiday shindig. Oh, we will feast!
So I am the baker
yes I am!
I bake those cakes as fast as I can,
Stir it, twirl it,
Slop it in a pan
O' yes, I am the baker
the baker I am.!
and now for a recipe.
Meggoos BUckeyes!
moosh together.
3/4cup pb.
2c. powdered sugar...sifted
1/2tsp vanilla
4Tbsp. Butter, melted.
Roll into any size ball you like.
Or pat it flat and use as a filling for a cake.
Chill it! in the freezer.
Melt 6oz...about 1/
2c. Semi-sweet chocolate with
1/2tsp oil.
Ready a toothpick, or other pointy item of your liking.
And speak each pb ball, then dip into melted chocolate, not all the way coated.
Just make it so some pb shows through the top.
Remove the toothpick and stab another pb ball, repeat.
smooth the hole from the toothpick over, nicely, and chill in a cooler, until firm.

I hope to bake up a few things over the holiday, and show my sisters a few new Ideas, or tricks.
